Evermore - Its too late |
] |
Few of us make important life choices with any degree of decisiveness. Backtracking here and compromising there, we often lack the backbone to stand by our own decisions. Because of this we remain in a continual state of angst. At times we hold a planless, day-to-day attitude toward whatever comes our way. At others we are fatalistic, defeatist. One day we exhibit spinelessness and have no clearly defined opinion at all; the next we cling so strongly and stubbornly to an idea we become fanatical.
'The best lack all conviction, while the worst / are full of passionate intensity.' Yeats
Ultimately, all these symptoms can be traced back to our fear of responsibility, and the indecision which it spawns. Peace comes through decisiveness. Life is filled with influences - some good, some bad - vying for our attention. If we are undecided about what course we want our life to take, we run the risk of being tugged in countless directions. Of course, decisiveness means little unless we are ready to embrace the change and consequences it brings. This readiness extends to every aspect of our lives: rediness to forgive the unforgivable; to remember where we would sooner forget; to forget where we would rather remember. It means readiness to love where we have hated; to go where we would rather not go, and to wait if we have been forgotten; to look forward, not back; to draw a line under the past and turn in hope toward the future. Ultimately, it means readiness to give everything, even our own life.

Who ever said jesmond wasn't the place to be? Who ever said jesmond is a hole? All the fun things happen at jesmond! Its even better when they happen on late night shopping thursday nights when im hitting up the close shift.
About 20mins before i finished and leave the power to the ENTIRE shopping complex dies. Struggles on for a second then dies completely. So were left in just about pitch black with only the weak light from exit signs and emergency lights that are about a centimetre big and 20 feet up so they are hardly worth the effort, wondering what the hell is going on. To make matters more like a terrorist attack, all the sliding doors to the entrance stopped working because they run on electricity and all the emergency exit doors closed because they run on solenoids (electro magnet) so immediately after the power dies all the doors close and im like, ahh wtf are we under attack. It was funny as well because all the shops with plastic closing doors whipped them down asap, fearing looters, well it is jesmond.

Revolution - The Veronicas |

I killed the beep test, it nearly killed me but i got a leg up on it, then after i finish it they tell me that it was only the trial and i have to do it AGAIN! I was too wasted to strangle them so i let it slide. You know head spins and lactic acid makes you feel like you've been drugged. I do now.
But the main thing is i can do it, so i don't have to stress next time, just keep myself fit.
Then i didn't get to sleep until 1.30 am last night/this morning on top of my wastedness because of beep test. Daniel paced it out with me though as we created the beauty that is the empowering discussion board, it was harder to make than the actual website. But its basically done now.
It is really hot, im tired and melting and have to go to work soon, blerk!

instructions: Visit Google.com, put your first name and the word “needs” in quotations (e.g., “Sam needs”) in the search box, and then click the Google Search button. Write down the top 10 results. (In my case, I subtracted the word “uncle” from the search.)
1. Sam needs a ‘doggie bag’. 2. Sam needs user notes. 3. SAM NEEDS YOUR HELP! 4. Sam needs a star in Hollywood. 5. Sam needs user. 6. Sam needs your help again. 7. Sam needs to work on… 8. Sam needs to make up his mind. 9. Sam needs the clean slate that comes only through confession to God. 10. Sam needs to save more money.
Who am I to argue with Google? It knows everything.

Eagle Eye Cherry - Are You Still Having Fun |
] |
One of the biggest drains on our energy and emotion, and one of the biggest hindrances to peace, is our inability to be silent. For every situation in which we decide to hold our tongue or mind our own business, there are others where we let our heads be turned and join the chatter. We are constantly robbing ourselves of peace, because we choose to meddle in the affairs of others. We talk. We gossip. Many people seem to regard silece as a trapping of an unnecessarily severe life - something for monks or nuns, for 'religious' people. It is true that in many religious orders, members observe periods of silence. But why should this be seen in a negative light? Silence can relieve us of the burden of having to respond. It can help us avoid getting worked up over petty things.
Silence stands outside the world of profit and utility. It cannot be exploited; you can not get anything out of it. It is "unproductive"; therefore it is regarded as useless. Yet there is more help and healing in silence than in all the useful things -Max Picard (Writer)
Sometimes silence requires physical solitude. When we are alone, outward silence is easy to cultivate. When we are with others, it becomes more difficult. Silence involves more than not talking - it means learning to listen. Not to react, not to revise or embellish or expound, not even to respond, but simply to listen is a gift.
All our words are useless if they do not come from within. -Mother Teresa
All of us know what it is like to sit with someone we love, not saying anything yet feeling perfectly at ease. But silence is not always a source of peace. Sometimes even a slight pause in a conversation is enough to unsettle and embarrass us, and we grope for a quick reply to bridge the uncomfortable gap. When things are not right inside - when we are not at peace with ourselves, or not comfortable in the presence of another person - silence can be frightening. Not only suffering has taught me to become quiet, but also 'to let go of everything that ties us down.' Inner silence and detachment have made me better able to respond to the pain of others
Love silence even in the mind; for thoughts are to that as words to the body, troublesome. True silence is the rest of the mind, and is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment. -William Penn

Got home from a weekend at Point plummer yesterday evening. It was so fantastically awsomeness and sweet that i want to go again, we were averaging 5 sessions a day averaging an hour and a half each, it was purely epic, the waves were perfection on saturday morning, a decent left hander ride for 7 or more seconds, Sunday had the perfect shaped right hand waves for spinners and airs.
Saturday night we made a fire and sat around chatting and trying to figure out if it was goannas or peacocks in the trees above us and ground around us. I got sunburnt fin chops and it was all because of some freakin rock just under the sand which cut up my big toe and split the nail and mushed skin and blood was everywhere it was beautiful, meant i missed a session but i stood in the shore and let the sea water heal my toe, it worked.
There are so many things i could tell you about it but my fingers aren't really in a typing mood and i still havn't caught up on my sleep so i can't concentrate for long periods of time yet.
to describe the trip in a word - EPIC
Bring on the skoolies.
